Julian Assange Confirms Sanders Was Threatened
September 8, 2016

Julian Assange has confirmed that Bernie Sanders was threatened into pulling out of the Democratic race in July.

During a recent interview with Australian journalist John Pilger, Assange said that Bernie Sanders was forced to drop out of the race due to threats from the Clinton campaign.

Assange’s admission appears to substantiate claims by the Kremlin who revealed they had evidence that Jane Sanders was physically threatened in order to “get Bernie on board” with Hillary’s campaign.

“Julian, we cut you off earlier when you were talking about what you felt were the most significant emails that you have released. Is there any last one that you’d like to mention? And also, do you have any thoughts on Bernie Sanders? I mean what is your opinion why Bernie Sanders drop out of the race?”

Assange responded:

“Look, I think—you know, we know how politics works in the United States. Whoever—whatever political party gets into government is going to merge with the bureaucracy pretty damn fast. It will be in a position where it has some levers in its hand. And Bernie Sanders was independent candidate trying to get the nomination trough the Democratic Party and if you ask me he did get the nomination, but he was threatened to drop out.”

Again, Assange has promised to release incriminating emails which are sure to result in Clinton’s indictment. He says he has evidence that Hillary made deals with an alleged Islamic state sponsor, as well as damning information about the Clinton Foundation.

The Clinton campaign knows he’s on to her, too, which is why a strategist called for an assassination of Assange on TV.

“Of course, we’re very interested in revealing the truth about any candidate and yes we have some material about Bernie Sanders that will be published,” Assange added.

This is one of those stories that is so shocking and enthralling that I assumed immediately that it may be an outright lie. It would certainly be a godsend to the Trump campaign. Given the times we live in, however, I don't trust the Clinton Campaign enough to assume that to be the case.

The sources are not familiar, either, and CBS/NPR etc. have not carried the story. This isn’t the first news that isn’t carried by the mainstream media however, and I have suspected before that the Big Boys in the media may have been paid off or threatened to drop the story.

The nature of this narrative, given the way everybody in the DNC including the Prez called Sanders in to discourage him from proceeding further, tends to make me rely on my own eyes and instincts rather than their presumptive truthfulness and honor. So I’m not willing to drop this before “the other shoe hits the floor,” as we say.

I have a considerable lack of faith in the DNC and especially the Clinton “machine.” I’m beginning to trust Assange, as well, for his apparent interest in the rule of fairness among Democratic nations, as I trust the truthfulness of Edward Snowden. He may be the enemy of some in politics, but I think he’s, at least in his intentions, on the side of “God and Truth and Right.” He believes in sunshine and fair play, and I do, too.

US Uncut official logo

US Uncut is a decentralized direct action group in the United States established in February 2011 to combat corporate tax avoidance and highlight cuts to social spending and public sector jobs.[1] It draws its name, organizing structure, and tactics from UK Uncut, a movement that began four months earlier in London, England.

The group's first action occurred simultaneously in 50 cities across the United States, mostly at Bank of America branches. Since then, the group has expanded both its targets and its numbers.[2] As of May 2011, over 100 cities have had Uncut sponsored actions.[3]

In August 2016, US Uncut's Facebook page, with 1.5 million followers, was hijacked and began posting articles from an impostor site.[4] US Uncut activists announced on Twitter that they filed a lawsuit in federal court in order to resolve the situation.

Gjilan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gjilan (Albanian) or Gnjilane (Serbian: Гњилане) is a city and municipality in eastern Kosovo.[a] It is the administrative center of the District of Gjilan. It is famous for having recorded the lowest temperature in Kosovo with −32.5 °C (−26.5 °F) on 25 January 1963.[1]

Geography[edit]

Gjilan is located in the southern Binačka Morava river basin (Binačko Pomoravlje).

Name[edit]

Ottoman chronicler Evliya Çelebi mentions Morava as a settlement of the Sanjak of Vučitrn. Çelebi writes that: "The seventeen day journey from Constantinople (Istanbul) to pass through Vranje, Novo Brdo, Krivareka (Egridere) and Morava (Gjilan). The etymology of Gjilan is disputed. Albanian sources claim that the town (initially a village) obtained its name from Bahti Beg Gjinolli of Gjinaj clan that ruled the region of Vučitrn (Llapi and Drenica), and populated this area in the 18th century (around 1750). However, there is no definite evidence to support that claim, and in fact no one can confirm as to who the first true inhabitants were, or when they first settled there. On the other hand, Serbian sources claim that the origin of the town name is in the Serbian word gnjio (putrid, rotten).[2][better source needed]

Modern history[edit]

In 1915, in and around the city, the Serbian army made a futile stand against the 1st Army of Bulgaria, during the World War I Battle of Kosovo. That battle resulted in the ultimate defeat of the Serbian military, and the occupation by the forces allied with the then German Empire.

In World War II there was a significant amount of activity in and around Gjilan by the Partisans fighting against Nazi Germany and her allies. Monuments to these actions can still be found today, one of which is located in the middle of the village of Koretište.

In 1999, Camp Monteith was established outside the city as a base of operations for KFOR during Operation Joint Guardian, on the site of a destroyed Serbian military base which is handed over to Kosovo Protection Corps in 2007 after U.S. Military downsized their troops. Gjilan has also served as the regional headquarters of the UNMIK International Police task force from 1999.

Culture[edit]
Flaka e Janarit[edit]
Main article: Flaka e Janarit

Go To this website for an exquisite photographs of a groups of dancers, performing an Albanian dance during "Flame's Pentagram"

Flaka e Janarit is a cultural event that starts on January 11 in Gjilan, Kosovo with symbolic opening of the flame, to keep up with various cultural activities to 31 January of each year. It gathers thousands of artists and art lovers from all the Albanian territories, who for three consecutive weeks transform the city into a cultural metropolis. The nation's martyrs are honored through values of art by this event, which began before the 10th anniversary of the assassination of writer, activist and patriot Jusuf Gërvalla, along with Kadri Zeka and Bardhosh Gërvalla. It was exactly the 10th anniversary without these three martyrs of freedom and from coincidence of these murders in a same date on 11 January, this event got this name "Flaka e Janarit". Moreover, this month has "eaten" lots of devout patriots.[11]

Features[edit]

Gjilan is now the administrative center of the District of Gjilan of Kosovo. Since February 15, 2003, it is the headquarters of the Local Democracy Agency in Kosovo of the Council of Europe.

Aetna's tower on Jacksonville's Southbank is pictured. A group of U.S. senators, including Florida's Bill Nelson, are demanding Aetna explain its decision to abandon Affordable Care Act insurance exchanges in many areas.

BOSTON — Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and a handful of fellow Democratic senators, including Bill Nelson of Florida, are demanding Aetna explain its decision to abandon Affordable Care Act insurance exchanges next year in more than two-thirds of the counties where it now sells the coverage.

The senators are sending a letter to Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini on Thursday.

The senators question whether the Connecticut-based insurer was motivated by the Justice Department's decision to challenge Aetna's proposed $37 billion merger with Humana.

They also want to know what criteria Aetna used to determine which states to withdraw from.

Florida is among the states being dropped, according to a Bloomberg report in the Miami Herald.

Sens. Edward Markey of Massachusetts, Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Sherrod Brown of Ohio also signed the letter.

Bertolini has said the insurer could grow its exchange business "should there be meaningful exchange-related policy improvements."

Aetna's plan to leave the exchanges comes as the company prepares to move its Jacksonville operation from its signature tower on the Southbank to the former Bank of America office park at 9000 Southside Blvd., just north of The Avenues mall next year.

Aetna spokesman Walt Cherniak said in May the price of the Southbank location was one reason for the move, but room for potential growth was another.

Lawmakers have a few questions for Mark Bertolini.

According to a report by The Huffington Post, five senators have written a letter to the Aetna Inc. CEO, demanding answers about the company's exit from several Obamacare exchanges, effective next year. And they want the answers by Thursday, Sept. 15.

The senators want to know whether the move had anything to do with the U.S. Department of Justice's lawsuit to block Aetna's pending acquisition of Louisville-based Humana Inc. for about $37 billion. You can read the full letter and the list of questions here.

The lawmakers include Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat from Massachusetts, and former presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, an independent from Vermont.

Before the DOJ sued to block the deal, Aetna (NYSE: AET) officials had said the company would stay on the exchanges, even as competitors bailed. That's why it came as a surprise when the company made an about-face.

Speculation about the planned exchange exit widened when The Huffington Post obtained a letter Bertolini sent to federal antitrust officials in July, saying his company would abandon the exchanges if the deal wasn't allowed to go through.

That letter was dated July 5 — just a few weeks before the DOJ sued to block the Aetna-Humana (NYSE: HUM) deal and another one between two other big insurers, Anthem Inc. and Cigna Corp.

Was it retaliation? The idea that it was left the senators "particularly troubled," they wrote in the letter.

"Many experts predicted (the deal) would harm competition in the health insurance market and negatively impact the cost and quality of health care," they said in the letter, according to the story. "Aetna could not have been surprised at the concerns raised by regulators about this merger."

Aetna has said the letter before the lawsuit wasn't intended as an ultimatum. Rather, the company said, it was simple economics— the deal would have produced synergies that would have left both companies better able to compete on the exchanges.

I think the “simple economics” here is the same that any crime boss uses when he kidnaps the child of the police chief. Voila, "SUPPLY AND DEMAND!" Aetna is trying to succeed in kidnapping the ACA, Obama’s brainchild and a huge investment for the nation. If the FBI (or rather the DOJ in this case) will stick to their guns and use whatever available Anti-Trust Regulations still exist at this point on containing Aetna’s cancer-like growth, it will very likely relent. If it is a case of needing more laws to govern the insurance industry and the other MegaMonsters of the Business world as well, then that is what we citizens need to agitate for.

I have been very much concerned about how BIG Big Business is getting again these last several decades. Republicans are always so concerned about Big Government and inflation; but they seem to think businesses so large that they totally strangulate competition and lay off workers, in which climate the daily commerce in which we as puny little citizens and SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS must operate, is perfectly okay. “What’s good for General Motors is good for the USA!” Not only is the modern-day government unfair in the way it treats such huge entities, but it allows all wealth to be squeezed out of the economy by the upper 1%. That is sheer stupidity.

That is not only unfair to “Main Street,” but it’s immensely unwise. The reason the severe economic depressions occur is because the average citizen has no money to spend. That means that business in an area dries up and the lower economic classes are literally deprived of basic needs. The upper most tippy top class in this country thinks that homelessness is occurring because those people are to danged lazy to get a job. Yeah. Right! It is quite possible for the nation to fall apart as a government as well. Let us remember some history.

Rioting in the streets with the murder of the wealthy occurred in France in the 1700s and it can happen here as well. (PS, I’m neither threatening nor advocating that, of course). One of my father’s favorite descriptions of the 1930’s when there were very few jobs of any kind to be had, and the intense economic deflation had reduced the price of goods and services considerably was, “You could buy a lot with a dime, if you had a dime.”

Republicans tend to forget that if they keep every dollar in their own hands, the world of business will founder and die, and eventually that will include them. It’s easy for the wealthy to consider themselves impervious to all problems, but that isn’t and will never be true. Surely they can see that such a thing isn’t in their interests any more than it is good for the poor and our ever shrinking Middle Class.

FDR invested vast amounts of government money on infrastructure projects (which we could use nowadays, too) and the impoverished masses were put to work and given enough pay to begin making improvements in their daily lives. They bought and spent enough to rehydrate the US economy. With that influx of money from the bottom up toward purchased goods and services, the economy began to grow strong again. We need a good old New Dealer like Bernie Sanders to make these changes for us again, which BIG BUSINESS is apparently not yet in the mood to do. Why do that when they can just leave the country and go buy a private island somewhere?

I am waiting, not patiently and not quietly, for things to change. I don’t want those dystopian visions to come true, one after the other. I want financial relief for the 90% and racial/ethnic/gender/religious equality to emerge much more fully than they have so far.

Please, Hillary, if you do win, hit the economic issues very hard. Your goal of mass installations of solar power everywhere is great. Free college tuition would get those young people off the street corners and into some kind of advanced job/intellectual/professional training. Maybe we could give the homeless jobs cleaning up the roadways and repairing decrepit housing in our cities. We could use a law that says a building may not be left vacant and falling apart by the landlord, but must be given to the city/county to be turned into low income housing with decent plumbing and amenities. Then the homeless and the poor will be able to afford rent in some low income housing. When Roosevelt was in office the Republicans scornfully called his projects “make work” projects, but many a man/woman/child got a job in such activities. Why is that a bad thing?

BERNIE SANDERS

Bernie Sanders spinoff group to disclose big donors

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ new activist spin-off organization, “Our Revolution,” will disclose any high-dollar donations it receives, two of the group's board members said Wednesday.

The two said the board made that decision during a Tuesday night conference call.

As a “social welfare” organization (or a 501(c)(4) group for tax purposes), Our Revolution doesn't have to disclose its donors. Its commitment to transparency was among several concerns raised by at least eight staffers who resigned as part of a staff revolt before the group launched last month. Our Revolution was set up to carry on the “political revolution” started by Sanders’ presidential candidacy, which targeted big money in politics

Former Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner, one of the group's board members, said the board was unanimous in its decision to release high-dollar contributions. The precise definition of "high-dollar" has yet to be determined. Another progressive 501(c)(4) organization, MoveOn.org Civic Action, discloses all donations of $5,000 or more.

“We know that people really care about transparency and accountability and we’re not going to let people down,” Turner said. “We do take seriously the faith that people have in us as a movement and this organization as a symbol of that movement.”

Board member Catalina Velasquez, an immigration and LGBTQ activist, said Our Revolution has more than 4 million supporters and thousands of volunteers who "will continue to hold us accountable to make sure that the movement is continuing.”

Sanders, I-Vt., launched Our Revolution to help elect progressive candidates at every level of government and support progressive causes and ballot issues. As a U.S. senator, he said he won't direct or control the group.

The staffers who resigned objected to the group’s status as a social welfare organization. Such organizations often are referred to as “dark money” groups because they can accept unlimited funds without disclosing donors.

Paul Schaffer, one of the staffers who resigned, said such groups "have no contribution limits (and) they don’t need to disclose their donors, which seemed contrary to the spirit of how the campaign raised its money and Bernie’s statements about transparency and getting money out of politics.”

The staffers who revolted also questioned the competence and vision of Sanders’ former campaign manager, Jeff Weaver, and resigned after Weaver was appointed president of Our Revolution. They believe Weaver was focused on accepting big checks from donors and running ads while they hoped, instead, to coordinate campaigns with down-ballot candidates, which is prohibited for 501(c)(4) groups. As an unwritten rule, such organizations must spend less than half their resources on political activities.

“We wanted to be working on these down-ballot elections and to be able to coordinate and work together as much as possible with these campaigns,” Schaffer said.

Weaver could not be reached for comment.

Larry Cohen, Our Revolution's board chairman and a former labor leader, said it’s “fine” that some staffers decided early on that the job wasn’t for them.

“I support their right to make that decision,” he said. “They’re all still totally supportive of the overall mission.”

In the future, a traditional political action committee could be set up, he said. For now, Our Revolution will ask supporters to donate to candidates the group endorses and will mobilize support for ballot measures and issue-based campaigns, such as the fight against the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal. The group will seek help from Sanders occasionally to speak at events.

“The philosophy of Bernie sanders will be the philosophy here,” Cohen said. “It won’t be direct because he’s not going got have any control, doesn’t want it and can’t as a senator. But it will definitely be in that same spirit.”

I agree with the Our Revolution board’s decision to voluntarily disclose those large donors names and amounts, because it will be “cleaner,” but I expect some will refrain from giving to it for some sort of private reason – politics, perhaps, if they were a Republican. What would happen if Republicans suddenly began to develop a conscience? I do feel that promoting more local Progressives and issues of importance is something that very much needs to be done, so I think that is the best use for their money. “The man in the street” nowadays is much too likely to be a Republican, and if they are the only ones who can qualify to be on the city councils and state government positions, then Republicans will continue to rule by simple numerical dominance. But above all, I want this fledgling organization to be strong enough to fend for itself in the BIG world of politics. The fact that much too great a number of voters is COMMITTED to either the Republican or Democratic party is beginning to look like a drawback to me after the way the POWER elements behind Clinton literally abused Sanders, and indeed even perhaps threatened his wife Jane’s life.

See the first of today’s articles on that very highly sobering subject, which comes from http://bients.com/julian-assange-confirms-sanders-threatened/. A great many more Independents would help, but what I really want to see is a leftleaning party which stands on its’ millions of politically active feet and pushes back at the “conservative” and “moderate” big parties. Let’s see some folks marching in the streets for important issues. Until we all begin to really CARE, that won’t happen, but if a bunch who do care will become visible and vocal, that will be the beginning of real progress. BLM could be our role model, though I want to see lawyers and businessmen involved also. Laws need to be rewritten, and the top 1% properly chastened. Now, just to make clear what I’m referring to, it isn’t a new wave of destructive and deadly violence, but an environment in which the city council will pay attention to what the poor are saying, and treat them/us with respect. The “middle of the road” should be a safe place for the poor and other races.
