THE REPUBLICAN SMEAR OF DANNY O’CONNOR LED BY DASTARDLY DONALD TRUMP
COMPILATON AND COMMENTARY
BY LUCY WARNER
AUGUST 7, 2018

“IT’S STILL THE SAME OLD STORY, A FIGHT FOR LOVE AND GLORY, A CASE OF DO OR DIE!” THIS IS FROM A MAGNIFICENT 1930’S SONG, “AS TIME GOES BY.” A GREAT POEM IS EVEN BETTER WITH MOODY BLUES MUSIC. SUCH IS LOVE, AND IN DANGEROUS TIMES LIKE THESE TODAY, POLITICS.

WHAT HAPPENS, OR DOESN’T HAPPEN, MATTERS A GREAT DEAL. SO, YOU DEMS, IF YOU CAN FIND SOME WAY TO DO IT AT ALL, GO VOTE DEMOCRAT IN THE PRIMARIES AND SPECIAL ELECTIONS LIKE THIS ONE !! FILLING UP THE LEGISLATURES IN WASHINGTON DC AND IN ALL STATE HOUSES ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITH HONEST, CARING AND FAIR-MINDED DEMOCRATS, AND THEN VOTING HIM OUT IS THE BEST AND MOST BENIGN WAY TO EJECT CURRENT PRESIDENT TRUMP OUT ON HIS HUGE DUFF – ALONG WITH ALL OF HIS KINDRED SPIRITS. IF YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR REGISTRATION AS I DO, DO THAT TOMORROW. VOTING DAY WILL PROBABLY BE TOO LATE.

AS FOR THIS TOTALLY EXAGGERATED CLAIM BY THE GOP, IT’S RIDICULOUS WHEN IT’S TAKEN IN CONTEXT. IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME BY A RESUME PREPARER TO DO JUST WHAT HE DID THAT IN ONE CASE WHERE I WORKED SEVERAL TIMES OVER A FEW YEARS LIKE THAT WITH THE SAME COMPANY. I TOOK TWO YEARS AT THAT TIME WORKING WITH A TEMPORARY PLACEMENT AGENCY, AND THAT’S HOW THE WORK TENDS TO COME IN. I MADE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY MY RENT AND EAT REGULARLY, ETC., AND IT RELAXED ME CONSIDERABLY TO BE LESS PRESSURED IN MY SCHEDULE.

THE WRITER OF THIS ARTICLE USES DONALD TRUMP’S OWN SMEAR CODE NAME, “DISHONEST DANNY O’CONNOR,” SO SHE MUST THINK THAT TRUMP IS A REALLY COOL GUY, DESPITE HIS RECORD OF ABUSE, LIES, CONSORTING WITH AN INTERNATIONAL RIVAL NATION, AND FINANCIAL CHEATING. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE, I THINK, CONTAINING THIS WORDING, WHICH CAME FIRST FROM GOP.COM, THOUGH I FOUND AT LEAST ONE OTHER WITH THE SAME ACCUSATION OF FALSIFYING HIS RESUME IN A FOX NEWS ARTICLE. GIVE IT ANOTHER WEEK OR SO, AND THERE MAY BE TEN OR TWENTY AS THE PAPERS COPY EACH OTHER. IF THERE IS A REALLY SERIOUS PROBLEM, HE WOULD OF COURSE HAVE TO DROP OUT OF THE RACE.

I WONDER WHAT D. TRUMP’S TRUE LIFE RESUME LOOKS LIKE? FOUNDER OF THREE MINOR FAILED BUSINESSES, FROM STEAKS TO “COLLEGES,” TAX CHEAT, SEXUAL ABUSER OF WOMEN, BULLY IN HIS “NEGOTIATIONS,” POSSIBLE PUSSYCAT FOR VLADIMIR PUTIN, AND PERHAPS MORE THINGS THAT I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. IT’S NOT THAT THOSE THINGS AREN’T FULLY HUMAN FLAWS, BUT THAT WE NEED A MUCH MORE STABLE, FOCUSSED AND THOROUGHLY DECENT PERSON IN THE PRESIDENCY. I CAN’T GET PAST THAT “GRABBING” COMMENT THAT TRUMP MADE.

I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT DANNY O’CONNOR’S “COVERING TIME GAPS” IN HIS RESUME SHOULD DISQUALIFY HIM FROM OFFICE, ESPECIALY IF HE WILL BE MORE CAREFUL IN THE FUTURE. I SAY THAT BECAUSE THIS ACTUALLY IS EMBARRASSING ON THE SURFACE OF THINGS, AND SUBJECT TO CRITICISM IN GENERAL. WHAT A GOOD MANY PEOPLE DO NOW IS TO CALL THEMSELVES A CONSULTANT. IT’S NOT SOMETHING THAT I PERSONALLY WOULD NECESSARILY IGNORE WITHOUT DISCUSSION, BUT IF THE APPLICANT HAS GOOD SKILLS AND GOOD REFERENCES, I WOULD PROBABLY GIVE HIM OR HER A TRY IF I GET “GOOD VIBES.”

The Saga of Dishonest Danny O'Connor
MANDI MERRITT HOUSE 2018 - August 6, 2018

The day that voters, reporters and pundits have been waiting for is almost here - the Ohio 12th Congressional District Special Election is tomorrow.

This race pits a Nancy Pelosi liberal in Danny O'Connor against a common-sense conservative with a proven record in Troy Balderson.

Let's recap some of the best - and worst - moments in this campaign for Dishonest Danny O'Connor:

Ohio's Very Own Pinocchio

Dishonest Danny O'Connor got caught inflating his resume. While O'Connor touted his experience in the Prosecutor's office on the campaign trail, it turns out his "experience" was mainly seasonal intern employment.

"Public records reveal that O’Connor is loose with the facts when it comes to his past work experience."

Danny O'Connor also claimed credit for creating a paid family leave program on his campaign website. The only problem is - he had nothing to do with it.

O'Connor has also come under fire for claiming on his Recorder's biography webpage that he was vice president of the student body at Syracuse Law. This is also untrue.

Since Dishonest Danny clearly has a problem with telling the truth on his resume, we tried to help him out by delivering a resume-building toolkit to his office. He better start polishing up on those tips come Wednesday.

Nancy Pelosi Ties

Dishonest Danny O'Connor couldn't take the heat when pressed by MSNBC's Chris Matthews about who he would support for Speaker of the House.

After claiming for months that he wouldn't support Nancy Pelosi for Speaker, O'Connor admitted he would do just that if the situation arose.

It's no surprise this came days after Nancy Pelosi's campaign arm, the DCCC, poured money into the race.

Danny O'Connor has also fallen in-line with Nancy Pelosi's liberal agenda by claiming the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act "doesn't do anything for working people."

This comes in spite of the fact that the average Ohioan in the 12th District is seeing an annual savings of over $1,400, thanks to these historic tax cuts.

Businesses across Ohio have announced pay raises, bonuses and additional job benefits, citing the tax cuts as the primary reason. But O'Connor has called for an end to these important reforms.

O'Connor is also opposed to President Trump's border wall, turning a blind eye to illegal immigration.

Dishonest Danny O'Connor has also dodged questions on Medicare for all, a platform that national democrats have begun coalescing around - even with its $32.6 Trillion price tag.

Despite Danny O'Connor claiming to be a moderate, his support of Nancy Pelosi and her policies prove that if elected, Danny O'Connor would fall-in-line with party leaders and vote in lock-step with Nancy Pelosi and her allies.

"Danny O'Connor is stumbling to the finish line as Ohioans know that he's lied about his record, misrepresented his experience, and admitted he would support Nancy Pelosi for Speaker. In the race for the 12th Congressional District, the choice is clear. Voters can see through Danny O'Connor's empty rhetoric and fake-moderate claims and will elect Troy Balderson as their next Congressman tomorrow." - RNC Spokesperson Mandi Merritt

Ohio special election: Democrat Danny O'Connor has momentum in "tight race"

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The final special congressional election before November is happening Tuesday in central Ohio. Voters will decide between Democrat Danny O'Connor and Republican Troy Balderson. Many analysts see this race as a possible preview of the midterm elections.

Who and what to watch in politics this week - the competitive primaries

Bottom line: This isn't a place where Democrats should be competitive, reports CBS News correspondent Ed O'Keefe. President Trump won Ohio District 12 in 2016, but a 31-year-old Democrat is now running even with the Republican for an open House seat that the GOP has held since the early 1980s.

O'Connor rallied his volunteers Monday. He's facing Balderson, a state senator, who acknowledged "It's going to be a tight race." Balderson has earned endorsements from Mr. Trump and Vice President Pence.

Ohio, vote today for Troy Balderson for Congress. His opponent, controlled by Nancy Pelosi, is weak on Crime, the Border, Military, Vets, your 2nd Amendment - and will end your Tax Cuts. Troy will be a great Congressman. #MAGA

"There's only one choice in this election. That's vote for Troy Balderson," Mr. Trump said Saturday.

Mr. Trump urged his supporters to turn out and attacked O'Connor over the weekend.

"Danny O'Connor on his resume, put stuff that wasn't true," Mr. Trump said, adding, "He was like a low-level person that did nothing."

O'Connor said he's not worried about the president's involvement.

"All these people parachuting in from Washington, D.C., they stay for a couple hours, they leave town. They are not folks who are going to our schools. They're not folks walking our streets," O'Connor said.

Mr. Trump's appearance caused a last-minute headache for Balderson after Ohio Gov. John Kasich suggested that Balderson didn't want the president's help.

"I said, 'Troy, why, did you invite Trump in here, the president?' He said, 'No, I didn't,'" Kasich told ABC News on Sunday.

But Balderson said Mr. Trump gave him a boost.

"Did the president coming on Saturday help or hurt?" O'Keefe asked.

"Huge help. A lot of enthusiasm. We were around the district yesterday and that was the total conversation," Balderson said.

The rival campaigns spent hundreds of thousands this summer on ads. But with momentum on O'Connor's side, his supporters think he'll win by convincing some Republicans to vote for him.

"They are interested in new leadership, in fresh energy," voter Ruchira Datta said.

Democrats point out this district is similar to other parts of the country where they think they can win this fall. Mr. Trump won by 11 percentage points in 2016, so if Democrats do win Tuesday, it suggests we could see a bigger-than-expected blue wave in November.

West Hollywood passes resolution to remove Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star

The West Hollywood City Council has passed a resolution to remove President Donald Trump‘s Hollywood Walk of Fame star, according to the city’s mayor.

“West Hollywood City council unanimously passes resolution asking the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to remove the Donald Trump star on Hollywood Walk of Fame,” West Hollywood Mayor John Duran tweeted Monday night.

Trump’s star has taken beating after beating since he began his run for president. On July 25, a man wielding a pickaxe turned the star into rubble. He later turned himself in to police.

So this just happened again... somebody used a pick axe to destroy Donald Trump's star on the Walk of Fame. Still trying to learn more, but we know it's been vandalized multiple times, just never on this level. @NBCLA 📸: Victor Park/Loudlabs

A month before the 2016 election, it was similarly destroyed with a pickaxe, as shown through video obtained by Deadline at the time. That incident, according to the vandal, was done in response to the leaked Access Hollywood tape in which Trump made vulgar comments about women. The star had then been repaired.

That incident followed multiple others in which individuals built a wall around the star and spray painted a swastika on it. Last year, the star was vandalized with stickers, including ones that read “#IResist.”

In a statement issued on behalf of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, president and CEO Leron Gubler previously confirmed to EW that his organization is “working with the police in regards to this felony and intends to prosecute to the full extent of the law” — a course of action, he says, that “is something the Chamber would do for any Walk of Fame star that has been vandalized.”

After the most recent incident, the Hollywood Historic Trust had planned to restore Trump’s star “immediately,” but said it will require “several days of seasoning before it is polished.”

Gubler also reiterated a previous statement issued the last time Trump’s star was destroyed: “The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees. When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways than to vandalize a California State landmark. Our democracy is based on respect for the law. People can make a difference by voting and not destroying public property.”

Trump received the star in 2007 for his hosting role on NBC’s The Apprentice.
